Bear Creek Hunting Preserve is located in Bladen County North Carolina and is nicknamed “Mother Nature’s Playground” due to its dense concentration of unique geography. Bear Creek has 200 acres of unique forested landscape for you to explore which includes access to the Cape Fear River, two fishing ponds and a duck impoundment. Bear Creek not only provides hunters with land to hunt, also opportunities for all nature lovers to come experience the beauty of the outdoors. Whether you would like to hunt the animals, fish on the river, watch the wildlife or just enjoy a peaceful hike in the woods, Bear Creek Hunting Preserve is the place to go. Experience the peace that being surrounded by nature can bring.

Nature and Recreational Services

Hunting season is open only a few months out of the year. During the remainder of the year, Bear Creek offers access to the land for other activities. Come and enjoy the peace that nature offers.

Nature Walk/Bird Watching

If you enjoy being out in nature and observing its peaceful beauty, come walk our trails. Bear Creek has a duck impoundment that will surely bring some views of our wild ducks.

Primitive Camping

If you are into primitive camping, Bear Creek has a perfect spot that is an elevated area on the Preserve to provide more viewing area. You may even see our flying squirrel that has a house near the camping area.

Dog Training area

Need to train your dog(s) not to be gun shy? Need a place for them to learn to track? Bear Creek has the perfect space for training your beloved future hunting companion.

Fishing

Bear Creek has two ponds and access to the Cape Fear River that provide different opportunities to catch a variety of fish. Beginning fisher? We have equipment that you can rent and a guide is available to help provide tips and tricks.
